Engage students while watching videos

You can turn your own videos that you create or find any video already created on Youtube, Kahn Academy, or TedTalks, etc and turn the video into an interactive, engaging activity for your students.

Main benefits of Edpuzzle:

  • It’s FREE!

  • It’s very easy to understand and use. I created my first interactive video within 30 minutes.

  • Edpuzzle website provides quick “how to” videos of how to use this site and create your own videos.

  • You can assign videos to your students to formally track their progress or you can just show the video to the class and use as a class informal assessment.

  • You can add open-ended questions or multiple choice questions.

  • You can trim longer videos to only the part you want.

  • Can add your own voice over to already created videos.

  • If needed, you can use the accountability features such as, track how many times students watch a video and check students’ answers.

  • You can create an Edpuzzle class and invite others to join. Or if you would like to just share the link to your video, this is possible too.

  • I love this tool and believe you will too. If you need something to break up the videos you want to use in your classroom, to make them more interesting for your audience, something that is free to use, then please check out Edpuzzle.

  • Reasons why a teacher librarian would like this web 2.0 tool:

  • Can be used to teach any lesson where a video is being used

  • Helps keep lessons engaging

  • Easy for anyone to figure out and use

  • Free

  • Can have formal feedback by creating a class but can use as informal assessment

  • Can use already created videos and add a variety of types of questions
